Description
Bright on/off flashes - accurately timed.
103 offers unparalleled performance for simple flashing experiments. Its 3-bit single resistive driver offers 8 flicker-free light levels:
- 87.5% (relative to the 311/111 max output)
- 75%
- 62,5%
- 50%
- 37,5%
- 12,5%
- 0%
These levels allow using lower powers for prolonged ON-operation (for keeping the LED element cool enough), and a higher power for briefer flashes and pulses.
In all other aspects, 103 is physically and functionally identical, one-to-one compatible and drop-in replaceable with other LogLED drivers. It is our most affordable LogLED light source and is great if 1) smooth adjustment of brightness is not required, or 2) it is acceptable to achieve some smoothing via flicker-inducing PWM-like techniques, via neutral density filters or other optical elements that can adjust light brightness.

Safety information
General electrical safety principles apply. Pay attention especially on the following factors- Never directly view the R30 LED near the max-power. Especially the IR and UV may appear dim to the eye but can cause serious harm or blindness.
- Prolonged +10 s use near the max-power may overheat the R30 emitter leading to its failure or making it too hot to touch. Do not leave the device unattended when near the max-power.
- Caution on extreme ambient conditions: At high temperatures above 35°C the device's cooling capacity is lowered and prolonged max-power use may overheat internal components. High humidity over 90% may causes condensation causing several issues such as corrosion and short-circuiting.
